Located 12.4 miles from The Cove

Beach, Canoe/Kayak Launch, Fishing, Grills, Open Space,  Exceptional Playground, Pavilion, Restrooms, Hike and Bike trails (approximately 7.5 miles), Educational resources. 

 Robinson Preserve spans 682 acres of coastal slat marsh and mangrove habitat. A 150 acre portion of the preserve represents newly restored Florida habitat from disturbed farmland. Now, the land once again supports our unique local wildlife such as wood storks, white pelicans, bald eagles and more. 
 
The preserve has a very unique educational installation called 
“The Nest” ( The Center for N ature, E xploration, S cience, and T echnology.) 
 
The preserve features upcoming events in celebration of the newly completed restoration. The events spearhead at The Nest in February 2023 with “Manatee FitFest,”  and all day event which includes a boot camp, a 5k run, yoga, guided meditation, workshops on hooping, paddle boarding, and 
other fitness oriented activities. 
 
Plans at Robinson Preserve also includes a 5k and 10k run in 2023.

Located 11.6 miles from The Cove

Created in 1948, the park’s mission is to commemorate the expedition of the Spanish Conquistador Hernando de Soto and his impact on the American Indian societies of the Southeast. 

The park is open year round and offers many seasonal activities. The highlight of the parks activities include living history programs and demonstrations at Camp Uzita, a recreation of a 16th Century native village. 

During the summer the park operates guided kayak tours in the surrounding water and bays. Park Rangers and staff are on hand to assist visitors in their understanding of this important and controversial historical event.Located 12.4 miles from The Cove
