Once you visit Terra Ceia, Florida, you’ll wish you’d discovered it sooner. A tiny chunk of country, nestled between three bustling cities and a large bay, gives respite to weary travelers and comfort to those who have discovered its magic. But our local experts are what makes it the most appealing and today we’re going to explain to you why local fishing experts are worth their weight in gold.
We live in a unique area of Tampa Bay. Not only are we the only RV park on the saltwater this side of the bay, but we’re surrounded by ninety acres of wildlife and 20,000+ acres of aquatic preserve. This means those six long winter months when you’re trying not to freeze up north can be spent in sunny, warm, Terra Ceia Bay, Florida.
With limited time here, you’ll want to take advantage of the best opportunities available. Sure, you can rent gear, buy gear, or even pack your gear in hopes of finding fish. You can ask around, take a stab at using what you’ve got, or throw a line to see what hits. And you may be successful! But there’s a reason experts are available around these parts. The fish are here – and they know how to catch them.
Local fishing experts will not only save you moments of frustration but could save you years of not catching. The time, effort, attention, and consistency it takes to catch fish regularly is a full-time job.. Our local fishing experts perform this job daily. So, we’re recommending a few nearby to save you time and make the most of your fishing experience here in Terra Ceia Bay.
If you’re going to fish, you’re going to need bait. Located a half-mile from the oldest bait shop around, you can find live bait, frozen bait, locally made lures, and just about anything you need to fish at Skyway Bait & Tackle.

If you happen to be here on the second Saturday of the month, join them for a Captain’s Cookout where you can meet local charter captains and gain fishing knowledge over a meal.
Either way, a stop in to visit, explore, or gain updated reports on what fish are ‘in,’ will be worth your while. At Skyway Bait & Tackle, their personalized team of experts provide valuable tips to Catch More Fish!
